Thurgood Marshall Employee Accused of Inappropriately Touching Student: CVPD

Chula Vista police are investigating allegations of inappropriate touching made by a 5-year-old student and her mother against an employee at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School.

The Chula Vista Police Department said the 5-year-old girl and her mother reported the incident Sunday night.

The employee was placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation, as is Chula Vista Elementary School District protocol, according to CVPD.

Some parents picking up their children from school Thursday were disappointed they weren't made aware of the investigation sooner.

"If there is an investigation going on at least let us know they are investigating and let us know if anything comes from it," Mandie Waterman, a mother to a 6-year-old student at Thurgood, said.

Police said they have no evidence that suggests any other students were touched or are at risk.
