A San Diego man’s identification was stolen and used for breast implants at a Los Angeles-based plastic surgery center. Now, the woman who received the implants as well as liposuction on someone else's dime will take her makeover straight to jail.
Yvonne Pampellone, 30, from San Diego was sentenced Tuesday to 180 days in jail and placed on three years' probation.
When she walked into the Newport Beach plastic surgery center in September 2008, she said her name was Cindy. She told doctors that in a month, she was moving to New York to start a new job but before she left, she wanted a little nip and tuck.
“She wished to have a breast lift, an implant exchange. She wanted to go larger and have some lipo on her arms, backs and thighs,” said Larry Nichter, M.D., plastic surgeon with the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery.
The $12,000 outpatient procedure was done but when doctors called for a follow up, her phone had been disconnected.
Two weeks later, a man called demanding why his credit had been used for the surgery.
“She was pre-approved using a false identification, like a credit card would be used with a false ID for that,” said Jed Horowitz, M.D.

Doctors then traced the lot and serial number from her previous breast implant and found she had had surgery in Newport Beach five years ago.
The judge ordered Pampellone to pay restitution to the victim but the amount wasn't immediately clear.
