The man who fired several shots near a crowded area outside an Ice Cube concert last summer at the Del Mar Racetrack pleaded guilty in court Wednesday.
Daniel Elizarraras, 22, faced a charge of discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner after the incident at the Del Mar Racetrack in September 2018.
He also admitted to an allegation that he personally used a firearm as he committed the felony, a spokesperson from the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office told NBC 7.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department said Elizarraras, of Escondido, came to the ticket window attempting to purchase a ticket to a concert following the horse races at the popular seaside track last summer.
He was told the concert was sold out. He began arguing, which drew the attention of nearby deputies.
At that point, Elizarraras pulled out a silver-plated, semi-automatic handgun and fired several shots near a crowded area.

Witnesses captured video of the event and shared it with NBC 7. Warning, the video may be graphic.
Sheriff's deputies reacted to sounds of gunfire and one returned fire. Elizarraras was hit multiple times in the torso and arm, SDSO said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he initially pleaded not guilty before being booked into jail.
Elizarraras’ sentencing is scheduled for March 4.
