San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were on the scene of a house fire in Sherman Heights Wednesday.
The single-story family dwelling had smoke coming from the windows, callers told the department.
The home is located on L Street just west of 25th Street.
“We discovered we had a room and contents fire with extension into the walls and the attic,” said Battalion Chief Steve Salaz.
“Anytime it gets into the attic, that’s a concern for us because it can run the attic,” he said.
The three residents were not home at the time of the fire, fire officials said.
A cause has not been determined.
