Shed Fire Spreads to RV in College Area

San Diego Fire-Rescue investigators are looking into what caused a fire that damaged a recreational vehicle parked outside a College Area home.

A large amount of smoke was produced by the fire on Ewing Street just before 7 a.m. The fire started in a shed on the property and spread to the RV parked in the back yard, officials said.

"We have a lot of foilage, we have fences and the homes are kind of close together so if it wasn't for the aggressive action of the first-in crews getting a hose line around the fire this could have easily extended not only to this home but to another home adjacent to this structure," said Capt. Michael Libersedge.

Neighbors say squatters have recently occupied the shed behind the main house. They also say there was a fire at the same property in December.

Fences on two sides of the property were damaged.

No one was injured.
