Rejoice! Hot Snakes are slithering their way across the country starting on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
Ahead of their spring 2018 release of a new album coming out on Sub Pop, the band will be making their way from Long Beach to Philadelphia on a 10-day run that includes stops in Brooklyn, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more. Sadly, the Brooklyn Vegan-presented tour does not include a stop in San Diego.
Hot Snakes, formed in 1999 by Rick Froberg and John Reis, are one of the most well-regarded bands to come out of America's Finest City. Reis, a San Diego native, has been prolific in the Southern California music scene over the past three decades, having formed Rocket From the Crypt, Drive Like Jehu and Pitchfork, to name a few.
As if the Hot Snakes guitarist didn't have enough on his plate, he'll be leaving with Rocket From the Crypt for a 10-day European tour on Thursday, Nov. 30. Luckily, he'll be able to play his beloved guitar, which was stolen and then recovered in June of this year.
While we are a bit bummed that we won't get to see Reis play with Hot Snakes this time around, a hometown show is inevitable once their new album drops. Until then, maybe you'll see The Swami around town -- ya never know.
