2 Bodies Found in Multi-Million Dollar Mount Soledad Home

San Diego police are investigating the deaths of a husband and wife, found with gunshot wounds inside their multi-million dollar home on Mount Soledad.

A 911 caller reported the woman was found dead on the couch inside the Avenida Fiesta home at approximately 7:30 p.m. The woman's son made the discovery and asked a friend to call police.

Officers responded and searched for a possible gunman inside the home. They found the woman's husband dead inside.

Parvaneh Jilavi, 60, and her 80-year-old husband, John Mattiace, used to run a hospice inside the home and had recently renovated it and put it on the market, according to neighbors.

A motive has not been determined, SDPD homicide detectives said.

NBC 7 spoke to neighbor Mary Castro, who said her father was still inside their home and unable to leave due to the police activity.

Castro said her dad told her the body had been removed from the home. SWAT was called out in case there was a suspect still inside with a gun.

"This is a quiet neighborhood, none of this stuff ever happens," she added. "I'm just kind of worried that if there is gunfire, my family is going to be in danger."
