Hazmat Incident Shuts Down Street in Coronado

A hazmat incident shut down a street in Coronado on Wednesday, the Heartland Fire Department confirmed.

The incident happened around 8:20 p.m. on 8th Street and Alameda Boulevard.

Crews were investigating a fungicide that was found on the side of the road.

According to the Coronado Police Department, 8th Street between Alameda Boulevard and J Avenue was closed down. An advisory was issued to avoid the area while crews investigated.

Around 10:32 p.m., the road was reopened and the hazmat incident was cleared.

No other information was immediately available.
