Gulls Lose 3rd Straight to Start Season

Late comeback comes up short in Stockton

The good news for the Gulls is in their 3rd game of the season they finally enjoyed their first lead of 2019. The bad news is they still lost.

After Kiefer Sherwood put San Diego on top in the 1st period, Stockton scored four unanswered goals and held off a late rally to win 5-3 and drop the Gulls to 0-3 on the year.

In the 3rd period Jack Kopacka and Andrew Potularski scored 57 seconds apart to cut the deficit to 4-3 and it looked like an epic road comeback might be in the works. But San Diego pulled goalie Kevin Boyle for the 6th attacker and with less than a minute to play the Heat scored an empty net goal to put it out of reach.

The Gulls finally, after two weeks and three straight road games, get to enjoy their home opener on Friday the 18th when they get Stockton at what's expected to be a sold out Pechanga Arena.
