The owners of a popular supermarket chain are closing five stores, according to a published report.
Supervalu officials said that one local store would be affected by the cutbacks, with the four others spread out around California.
The local store is located near El Camino Real and Encinitas Boulevard in Encinitas. It's not yet known how many employees will be affected. The store will be shuttered on Feb. 19. Some workers will be offered employment at other locations.
