A gas line broke and began leaking in Midtown Wednesday afternoon.
A one and one-quarter inch steel gas pipe was damaged by a contractor, according to an SDG&E spokesperson.
The leak occurred on Union Street in a residential neighborhood.
No evacuations were ordered and no outages will occur for those in the area, SDG&E told NBC 7.
The nearby intersection was blocked for maintenance, said the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Crews were called in at around 12:10 p.m. However, they said they aren’t sure how long the repairs will take.
No other information was reported at this time.
