Friends and Family Say Goodbye

Family and friends gathered for a celebration of life Saturday to say goodbye to a San Diego jazz legend. Saxophonist James Moody died Dec 9.

Moody is best known for his 1949 Grammy winning song "Moody's Mood For Love."

The song has been covered by several performers including Aretha Franklin, Van Morrison, and Amy Winehouse.
Moody recorded more than 50 solo albums, but his daughter said her father's life was so much more than music.

"My father was continuously evolving," said Moody’s Daughter Michelle Bagdanov. "My father's always been the most interesting man I know. He continues to be because people continue to share their stories of his progressive thinking and mind set."

Moody died after a 10-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 85-years old.
