Friend Rides Free on MTS on Christmas Day

The promotion is part of the MTS operating schedule for Monday, Dec. 25.

San Diego’s bus and trolley system is going to be running on a different schedule over the holiday weekend.

The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System said it will follow a normal Sunday schedule on Dec. 24, Christmas Eve.

On Monday, trolleys will operate on a half-hour frequency, the MTS said.

There will be Sunday service on Rapid 201/201, 204, 215 and 235, urban local bus routes and Express Routes 20 and 950. No service will be provided on Rapid Express and Rapid 237, Sorrento Valley COASTER Connection, other Express bus routes or the Vintage Trolley.

The Transit Store, Compass Service Center, and Customer Service offices will be closed Sunday and Monday.

However, on Christmas Day, MTS is offering a promotion where a friend rides for free as long as they are with a fare-paying customer.

All offices will reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 26 with regular business hours.
