Fire Erupts at Metal Processing Building in Miramar

A small fire erupted in a metal processing plant in a Miramar business center early Monday. 

More than three dozen firefighters were called to the fire on Kenamar Drive near Trade Street at about 2:30 a.m. 

A fire dispatcher said crews were able to contain the blaze to a piece of machinery from inside the building.

A Hazardous Materials team was requested to test the building for potentially dangerous chemicals that may have burned in this fire.

Crews were cleared before 5:30 a.m. and no injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire was not yet known. An investigation into the fire is ongoing.
