U.S. Marshals are asking for help locating a man they describe as a dangerous sex offender.
Frederick McLean was charged in 2005 San Diego Superior Court on four counts of child molestation and a single count of a lewd act on a child. A witness told investigators he molested her more than 100 times. Detectives said they found seven additional victims during their investigation and believe there may be more victims.
McLean may be in northern San Diego or Riverside counties, according to investigators. He could be driving a small dark-colored pickup truck and or a 1955 Chevy with a California license plate of 4WQH018.
Authorities said McLean may have changed his appearance and should be considered armed and dangerous. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has hazel colored eyes.
Investigators said McLean owned a business restoring old race cars and may be involved in similar work now. He is an experienced camper and has frequented the Anza-Borrego desert and the Cuyumaca Mountains, according to officials.
Anyone with information about McLean whereabouts is being urged to call law enforcement.
