A San Diego institution reached a milestone this week.

On Wednesday, Father Joe’s Village reported serving its 20 millionth meal.

A little boy named Jayson was the recipient of the Thanksgiving-style meal complete with a big turkey leg.

The homeless nonprofit organization has provided meals in the San Diego area for 30 years.

The organization serves about 4,000 meals per day and offers medical and mental health services to the homeless.

“Thanksgiving is wonderful and important and we get a lot of media on Thanksgiving, but we are serving every single day of the year, 3 meals a day,” said Sister Tricia Cruise, President and CEO of Father Joe’s Villages.

Along with the thanksgiving meals tomorrow, Father Joe's will host its 10th annual Thanksgiving Day 5K in Balboa Park. About 10,000 people are expected to participate.
