A father found his baby dead inside its crib from a suspected case of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in the Mount Hope neighborhood, San Diego police confirmed.
Emergency medics were called to the scene on the 200 block of 35th street at about 10:22 a.m. Thursday, where the infant was found unresponsive, according to San Diego police (SDPD) and San Diego Fire-Rescue (SDFD).
It appears to have been a case of SIDS with no indication of criminal behavior, according to police.
The authorities have called Crisis Intervention to help the family cope with the infant's sudden death.
No other information was immediately available.
