Mother Pleads for Help Finding Killer

Angel Soto Torres is accused of shooting a North County man after a dispute over a car

The family of Tony Lindsay needs your help solving a cold case murder that happened in June 2003.

Escondido Police detectives say Lindsay, 23, had an argument with a former friend by the name of Angel Soto Torres.

The argument, which happened in the 700 block of East Mission Avenue, ended in gun fire as Torres allegedly shot Lindsay in the chest.

"That's pretty cold blooded to shoot an unarmed man who's facing you right in the chest and you're looking at him in the face," said Escondido Det. Norman Wight.

Cold case detectives believe Torres fled to Mexico but think he may have changed his name and is now living in San Diego County.

The victim's mother Josephine Lindsay said it's been difficult losing a son who always put others first.

"It's hard. It really is, out of all my children I can talk to them but I'll never hear him say 'Happy Birthday Mom, Happy Mother's Day,'" she said.

If you have any information about Torres call Escondido Police or San Diego County Crimestoppers.
