Ex-Anchor Sues Former Station

A journalist with a face familiar to many San Diegans is making allegations of racial discrimination and gender harassment against her former employer in a suit filed in April.

Former KGTV anchor Lisa Lake filed a lawsuit against the McGraw-Hill Broadcasting Company, alleging denial of equal pay, racial discrimination, gender harassment, retaliation, wrongful constructive termination, breach of written contract and intentional infliction of emotional distress. KGTV Channel 10 and the station's assistant news director, Sean Kennedy, were also named as defendants in the suit. Lake's attorney Joshua Gruenberg said the suit was filed on April 22.

Commenting on the suit, KGTV's director of multiplatform marketing, Jason Maloney, stated that "as a company recognized for treating employees fairly and valuing the contributions of its workforce, we believe this suit to be without merit and will defend against it vigorously."
