Two acres burned Friday when a vegetation fire broke out near Kit Carson Park.
Firefighters called for air support when the fire was reported just before noon near the Via Rancho Parkway exit from Interstate 15.
The location was described as east of I-15 near Kit Carson Park.
By 2 p.m, the forward rate of spread had been stopped and 80 percent of the fire was contained.
The cause was under investigation.
