Escondido Man Wins $280K in Lottery

This is the third recent winning California lottery ticket purchased in San Diego County, lottery officials said

An Escondido man is $280,000 richer after he claimed a winning lottery ticket.

Neurb Pek found out on Sunday he matched all five of the Fantasy 5 numbers to win.

His excitement was dampened a little when he discovered the local California Lottery office was closed Monday because of the Veterans Day holiday.

He was finally able to verify the numbers Tuesday.

Matching all five numbers (10-17-19-26-39) netted Pek $280,047.

He bought $5 worth of tickets from the store G Market & Liquor at 577 S. Rancho Santa Fe Road in San Marcos.

This is the third recent winning California lottery ticket purchased in San Diego County, lottery officials said.

On Oct. 25, a player bought a winning Fantasy 5 ticket in Santee. No one has come forward to claim the $379,925 jackpot.

On Nov. 5, someone purchased a MegaMillions ticket in Oceanside that matched 5 of 6 numbers. That ticket is worth more than $410,000, officials said.
