Man Sexually Assaults Woman in Motorhome: SDPD

The alleged sex crime happened on May 21 along 60th Street

Police have released a sketch of a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a motorhome in Encanto last month, standing over the victim as she slept before he attacked.

The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) said the sex crime happened on May 21. At around 8:40 a.m. that day, an unknown man entered a motorhome parked in the driveway of a home along the 500 block of 60th Street.

A woman was sleeping in the motorhome. When she awakened, she saw the man hovering over her. He then sexually assaulted the victim, police said.

The woman screamed and pushed him away; the suspect fled the motorhome, running away from the neighborhood on foot.

Along with a sketch of the suspect, police released a brief description of him Wednesday: he’s described as being in his mid-20s, around 5-foot-9, weighing between 180 and 190 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

A man who lives at the home where the motorhome was parked spoke to NBC 7 on Wednesday and said he’s shocked and sickened by the crime.

β€œI don’t even know what to feel,” he said. β€œI just think it is crazy, the fact there [are] people out there that are willing to do that kind of stuff; they have no remorse, no conscience about it.”

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on this case can call the SDPD’s Sex Crimes Unit at (619) 531-2210 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
