El Cajon Resident Wanted on 17 Counts of Child Molestation Since 1996 Arrested

The arrest came after a tip from Las Vegas which was in turn passed along to San Diego officials.

A man wanted on 17 counts of child molestation since January 1996 was arrested at his home in El Cajon, the U.S. Marshals Service San Diego Fugitive Task Force (SDFTF) announced Friday.

Alvin Harrison, 74, was wanted out of Las Vegas for armed sexual assault of a minor under 14 years of age in addition to 16 other counts of child molestation.

The SDFTF, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the San Diego Sheriff’s Department arrested Harrison on Wednesday in El Cajon, where he had been living.

The arrest came after a tip from Las Vegas which was in turn passed along to San Diego officials.

Officers matched the 74-year-old man by comparing photos from 1996 to a current Department of Motor Vehicles photo. He was later arrested at his home on the 1200 block of Persimmon Avenue in El Cajon around noon.

Harrison will later be extradited to Las Vegas.
