San Diego communities hosted many fun egg hunts and 2016 Easter events for little ones in America's Finest City.

Earlier this week UnitedHealthcare employees delivered and distributed more than 500 Easter baskets to the Fisher House and San Clemente Military Family Outreach program to support military families and children at Camp Pendleton.

On Saturday, March 26, more than 2,000 children turned out for the 12th annual Salvation Army Kroc Center Easter Eggstravaganza.

Kroc Center membership manager Dustin Nickerson told NBC 7 the annual egg hunt is “meant to be a gift to the community,” and always draws a huge crowd of smiling kids.

And Sunday, in this only-in-San Diego event, hundreds of kids spent their Easter on egg hunts, at the beach.

The kids shifted through the sand to pick out the Easter eggs at Mission Bay. It was one of four beachside egg hunts.

The manager at the Egg Hunt says she and her staff hid over 10,000 eggs and they were all found within 10 minutes.
