Driver Flees After Dragging Woman, Crashing Through Cemetery in Mountain View: Police

Police are searching for a driver who dragged a woman from a car before crashing it through headstones at a cemetery in Mountain View early Monday.

A driver crashed a blue Nissan through the Mt. Hope Cemetery on Imperial Avenue near 40th Street at about 2 a.m., The San Diego Police Department said. 

The incident started as a domestic dispute, SDPD said. The driver was also suspected of dragging a woman from a vehicle before the crash at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Then, the blue Nissan slammed through a chain-link fence along the perimeter of the cemetery and took out at least two headstones before coming to a rest. 

The driver fled the scene and has not yet been located but police said they have identified the person they are looking for. 

The woman injured in the crash was taken to the hospital for treatment. The severity of her injuries was not known.
