A man crashed his Budget rental truck into two businesses along El Cajon Boulevard in the College Area just after midnight Tuesday.
According to police, the driver slammed in a Greek restaurant and an office building near 59th Street.
The driver ran but was caught a short time later and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit and run, police said.
Property owner Kenny Nguyen got a call from his tenant around 5 a.m. reporting that a big truck had damaged his property.
“I don’t know what to tell you,” Nguyen said when he arrived to survey the damage. “Everybody is safe, okay. That’s all I care. Hopefully they’ll get the bad guy.”
Nguyen said he’ll have to call his insurance company to figure out what to do next.
