DJ IDeaL's Spring Fling

Spring has sprung and so have the non-stop dance parties

Since EDM shows are notorious for starting late (and going even later), we figured we might as well follow suit. Lucky for you, all of the good stuff is happening in the last three weeks of April anyway. -- Ed.

San Diego! The sun is shining, the weather is sweet, yeah! Hopefully you sang that classic Bob Marley line to yourself and can tap into the beauty that San Diego brings to us as spring is in the air. As the sun shines brighter, it means we are upon the beginning of a wide variety of outdoor fun and music options.

On Saturday, April 8, new San Diego artists showcase their live set with saxophones, live keys, various DJ elements and more. As a highlight event of the month, the Goldfish duo are set to keep you dancing under the big Bang Bang disco ball all night long.

As a special Thursday night event on April 13, Omnifik kicks off their new Future Jack location at Analog Bar. A San Diego token night known for highlighting up and coming talent will cater a variety of techno, house, future bass and more. Friday, April 14, treat yourself to a special intimate night with San Diego’s Harvard Bass & HALO. Check in and enjoy the night as they both drop an exclusive set at Blonde, taking you on a voyage through electronic tech and house like they do as they travel constantly throughout the globe. If you fancy some more dancing, boogie on up the street to Old Town at Spin as DJ Dan takes over with the Unicorn Invasion fundraiser for their event production camp.

For those waiting for their yearly paint splash, Life in Color returns to the Valley View Casino Center on April 22 with their most impressive lineup to date. Stacked as a triple headliner night with supporting San Diego talent, Cash Cash, A-Trak and Rusko will keep the party rocking past 2 a.m. at the world's largest paint party, which caters to both 18+ & 21+ attendees. Complete with theatrics, extravagant performers and world class production, make sure to grab your tickets before they're sold out. On the same night, Panda Funk’s Zoofunktion takes over the DJ booth at Parq nightclub. Not typically an electronic music night venue, this is a special event for all 21+ if you fancy a new dance floor. Also on April 22 over at Spin, the guys from Crowd Control present Josh Butler. A key artist with support from industry tops like Joris Voorn, Pete Tong, Kerri Chandler and Steve Lawler, Butler ventures to San Diego for a techno and house curated night. Crowd Control has been hosting select quality events throughout the city and this one will not disappoint.

If you’re in the mood to enjoy the sun and tap into some house music and refreshing drinks, Soul Work present their EDEN series on the rooftop at Spin on Saturday, April 29. A day party that has organically grown into it’s third summer season, expect happy vibes, bumping house music and a rooftop view to enjoy what San Diego is all about.

Looking toward the spring/summer series with CRSSD having kicked off our city's festival season, keep your eye out for the development of some other great fests happening in San Diego through the summer. Homegrown events like the West Coast Weekender return again in May with a three day platform featuring industry speaker panels, yoga sessions, technology showcases and day and nighttime parties featuring the likes of Mark Farina, Oliver Dollar, LTJ Bukem, Purple Disco Machine and much more. Also recently announced, Kaaboo returns this year with Mr. “F--- me I'm famous" David Guetta and a stellar global music lineup, while LED presents My Life Everyday USA with Zeds Dead & Tchami already confirmed! In addition, rumors have become reality as word on the street is that pool parties will be returning to the infamous Hard Rock Hotel for Intervention Sundays -- legendary for world class talent and ridiculous daytime pool parties. Get ready San Diego!
