Armed Man Shot by Deputies in Lemon Grove Dies, IDs Released

The man who was shot by deputies in Lemon Grove after allegedly threatening a family with a gun has died, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Adolfo Gonzalez reportedly threatened a man with a handgun at around 8:40 p.m. Saturday at the Del Taco on 7060 Broadway, Sheriff's Lt. Rich Williams said.

Responding deputies confronted Gonzalez who then "produced a handgun." He was shot by three deputies, according to Williams.

The deputies involved were later identified as Carlos Cenizo, Sean Daly, and Casey Dow. They are all stationed at the Lemon Grove Sheriff's Substation.

Cenizo has served as a deputy for four years, while Daly and Dow have served for three years, according to SDSO.

First responders attempted CPR and transported Gonzalez to the hospital where he died, Williams said.

Gonzalez was 28 years old.

No one else in the restaurant was hurt in the incident, according to deputies.
