San Diego police are investigating the collision of a motorcycle and bicycle at a major intersection between Mission Beach and the OB/Point Loma area.
The incident occurred just before 4 a.m. Friday at Sunset Cliffs and Nimitz Boulevard.
A man on a Yamaha motorcycle was traveling southbound and a man on a bicycle was traveling east on Nimitz when the two collided, San Diego police said.
The cyclist, described as 45 by police, suffered a broken nose, broken jaw and abrasions.
The motorcycle rider, 51, suffered minor injuries.
Both men were taken for treatment at a nearby hospital.
The intersection was closed to traffic for the investigation.
