Crews responded to multiple reports of a structure fire Wednesday night in Lakeside.
According to the Lakeside Fire Department, crews were called out just after 8 p.m. on the 8900 block of Bower Lane.
When they arrived on scene, they found a garage fully engulfed in flames.
A family of three lived in the home with two dogs. The father was treated for smoke inhalation but everyone else, including the pets were okay.
They was alerted of the fire by neighbors nearby.
The family had two motorcycles and a car in the garage which were destroyed in the fire, among other belongings.
At this time, the damages are estimated to be at $500,000.
Officials are continuing to investigate the cause, but neighbors told NBC 7, the fire started from a remote control toy car's battery that exploded while it was being charged.
