Crash Near Pala Casino Sends Three to Hospital, One Via Chopper

A crash on State Route 76 near Pala Casino Resort sent three people to the hospital, one via air ambulance, Monday.

The white pickup truck veered off the roadway near the 16300 block of SR-76 at about 11:40 a.m. Monday, California Highway Patrol said. What caused the car to veer off the roadway was not known. 

Cal Fire San Diego crews responded and transported three people to the hospital. One person suffered minor injuries and the others had major trauma, Cal Fire said. 

The air ambulance transported one person to Palomar Medical Center, according to CHP. The condition of all individuals involved was not known.

One lane of SR-76 was temporarily blocked but has since been reopened. 

It was not clear if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
