A semi-truck collided with at least four other cars on southbound Interstate 15 at Carmel Mountain Road, flipping one car up and over a barrier into the HOV lane.
The semi-truck had a tire blowout just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday, causing it to cross all four southbound lanes on I-15, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The front of the flipped car, a black Jeep, was entirely smashed.
A Sig Alert was issued and CHP officers closed the left lane of the freeway and one HOV lane. The alert was expected to last at least two hours, CHP said.
CHP told NBC 7 it is currently pumping gas out of the big rig so crews can safely remove it.
