A motorcyclist driving on a San Diego lost control of his motorcycle and crashed, leaving him with serious injuries, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials.
CHP Officer Bailey said the collision happened just after 12 p.m. in Mt. Hope, east of Downtown San Diego near Interstate 15. There are conflicting reports on where in the area it happened.
Bailey said the crash happened on on State Route 94; However, CHP Officer Jake Sanchez reported the motorcyclist was heading westbound on Interstate 805 at the time of the crash.
Preliminary reports say the man, believed to be 25-years-old, lost control on his own.
He was walking to the shoulder when he was struck by another vehicle, Sanchez said. The driver is cooperating and authorities are not expected to press charges at this time.
The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital.
