Coronado Beach has once again been named one of the best beaches in the country
"Parents" magazine ranked the beach as the fourth best for families in the United States. The magazine researched more than 1,000 locations.
"[Everything] families could want: perfect weather (it rarely rains in the summer), spotless white sand (the town even invented an environmentally-friendly rake to clean up the kelp) and warm, gentle water. Plus, there's no smoking allowed on this beach -- or any in California. Tide pools filled with sea creatures form in front of the famous Hotel del Coronado ...," the magazine says.
The No. 1 beach? According to the magazine's editors, that is North Beach in Tierra Verde, Fla.; followed by Coligny Beach Park, in Hilton Head, S.C.; and Kama'ole Beach Park III, in Maui, Hawaii. No other California beaches made the Top 10.
The beaches were ranked based upon water quality, restrooms and the presence of lifeguards.
