A 41-year-old man was taken into custody suspected of stealing an ATM from a courthouse, police said.
James Silbernagel, 41, tried to steal the ATM December 31, 2008, from the El Cajon courthouse, but was unsuccessful, police said. Investigators said Silbernagel used a stolen truck to try and pull the machine loose.
Investigators said they are trying to figure out if Silbernagel is linked to several other ATM thefts around the county.
Silbernagel was arrested Tuesday, he's being held on $95,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at 1:30pm.
