Cops Discuss Search of Amber's Computer

Investigators in North County are discussing what they found on the computer of an Escondido teen who was last seen almost six weeks ago, according to a published report.

Amber Dubois, 14, left for school on Feb. 13 and has been missing ever since, despite a series of searches that have combed the county for her.

On Thursday, Escondido police officials said a computer forensics search of the teen's computer did not give up any clues to the girl's whereabouts, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

"We really didn't get that much out of the computer," Lt. Craig Carter told the San Diego Union-Tribune Wednesday. "There's nothing on the computer that's alarming or changes the course of the case."

Police were hopeful prior to the search because they had reportedly been told by a pair of Escondido High School students that the girl had spent time recently "online talking to boys," according to a search warrant affidavit used to gain access to Amber's computer records.
