A gunshot fired inside a popular College Area chicken wing restaurant sent dozens of people scrambling for cover Thursday night.
At least one round was fired inside the Dirty Birds restaurant on El Cajon Boulevard at around 10:15 p.m., San Diego Police Department Officer John Buttle said.
Police said no one was struck but a suspect was arrested.
Dozens of people were inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting, according to Dirty Birds employee Jack Verduzco.
"Everybody scrambled but it was so strange because nobody screamed,” Verduzco said. "Overall, It was pretty traumatic, I mean I was pretty shaken up about it."
Verduzco said there was some sort of arguement before the shooting and he heard one person say, "'You're not going to shoot that gun' and he shot the gun."
The incident came one day after a woman was killed and two others were injured in a shooting at a South Bay chicken restaurant. No was was arrested in that incident as of Friday morning. There is no indication that the two shootings are connected.
