Chula Vista police will have extra patrol at a South Bay high school on Thursday after a rumor of a threat that turned out not to be credible, according to school officials.
A message was sent to students and parents of Castle Park High School alerting them to a post circulating around social media about a shooting threat.
Sweetwater Union High School District (SUHSD) spokesperson Manny Rubio confirmed that the threat was not substantiated, and was actually a rumor of something that never occurred.
Despite, at least on Chula Vista patrol car was at the high school campus Thursday morning Rubio confirmed officers would be present at the school throughout the day. Classes would remain unaffected.
