Chargers Have Lots to Fix After Loss to Titans

The San Diego Chargers have a lot of things to fix after letting one slip away Sunday in Tennessee.

The Titans beat the Chargers Sunday 20-17 at LP Field in Nashville.

For the Bolts, it was the second time this season they lost a game after allowing an opponent to score on its last possession.

"But like I told our team, `Don't get to that point. Don't put it on the defense. Convert that four-minute situation, pick up first downs at end of the game and the game is over.' But we didn't get it done," Chargers Head Coach Mike McCoy said at Monday’s media briefing.

But in the end, they couldn't collect enough first downs to kill the clock. "It's all about winning," McCoy said, "and we didn't get it done at the end."

Here's another prediction: fans won't see any more tantrums from quarterback Philip Rivers.

In the second quarter, Eddie Royal’s touchdown was negated by a call of offensive pass interference by rookie Keenan Allen.

Rivers had words with the referees and was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, pushing the Chargers to a first-and-goal at the 30-yard line

“It’s an unfortunate situation. As a team we’ve got to learn from it,” McCoy said.

“I’m sure he has said that plenty of times,” he continued. “Whether it was the officials, or whatever happened, whoever he was talking with - whether it was the fans, whether it was the officials, whatever - it’s just, we’ve got to eliminate that.”
