Chargers Casey Hayward is headed to the 2017 Pro Bowl

The cornerback leads the league with 7 interceptions

Congratulations are in order for San Diego Chargers cornerback Casey Hayward who is headed to the Pro Bowl! This is the first time Hayward will play in the NFL’s annual all-star game since he started his professional career.

Hayward leads the league with seven interceptions so far this season. The 5-year veteran is also on pace to set a new career-high in tackles as he is three away of his personal best with two games left this year. Hayward stepped up when cornerback Jason Verrett was injured early in the season and has been a force in the Bolts defense.

Four Chargers were selected as alternates for the game: quarterback Philip Rivers, tight-end Antonio Gates, running back Melvin Gordon and rookie defensive end Joey Bosa.

The Pro Bowl will be played in Orlando this year at Camping World Stadium on Jan. 29.
