Chargers at Chiefs Injury Report

A couple of small concerns for the Bolts in the season opener

The Chargers won’t have to hold anyone out due to injury in Sunday’s season opener against the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, but that doesn’t mean everyone is healthy.

Pro Bowl cornerback Jason Verrett missed parts of practice on both Thursday and Friday with a calf injury but is expected to be available and play at Arrowhead Stadium. The only other Bolt nursing an injury is right guard D.J. Fluker, who has an ankle issue but was a full participant at practice this week and is expected to start in Kansas City.

For the Chiefs, running back Jamaal Charles is not expected to play. He is still working his way back from a torn ACL and needs a few more weeks to heal. Pass rushing linebacker Tamba Hali also has a knee problem. He’s expected to play but only on a rotational basis. Starting cornerback Phillip Gaines is another guy with a knee injury but will start opposite reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Marcus Peters. Everyone else is healthy and ready to go for KC.
