Chargers Add Another Linebacker

No, Not Dwight Freeney

While the Charges kick around the idea of adding former Pro Bowl defender Dwight Freeney to their linebacking crew, they actually did sign linebacker Thomas Keiser on Thursday.

Keiser went to Stanford, and made the Carolina Panthers practice squad after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He played the final 8 games, and finished with four sacks, an interception and nine tackles.

He played four games with the Panthers last season, then missed the rest of the season with an elbow injury.

The Bolts are still looking for replacements for Melvin Ingram, who suffered a torn ACL on Tuesday. Ingram, the Chargers' first round pick from a year ago, was supposed to take over the pass rushing role Shaun Phillips held before leaving for Denver.
