San Diego police are searching for a man caught on camera leaning into the drive-thru window of a Mexican restaurant and snatching the cash register, police said.
The incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Burritos Santana Mexican Food off University Avenue in the Rolando area.
The man parked his car in front of the restaurant window and stood at the counter as the worker retrieved the food. That's when he made his move, San Diego police said.
The surveillance video shows the suspect struggling with the cash register’s cord before closing his car door and speeding off.
In all, about $100 was stolen, police said.
Police who were reviewing the video discovered that the license plates on the car were stolen.
No arrests have been made.
