An 87-year-old man was seriously hurt Friday morning when a driver struck him in Logan Heights.
The man was in the crosswalk going northbound on 35th Street at National Avenue when a woman in a Toyota Yaris went to make a left turn onto National Avenue. She didn't see the pedestrian and hit him, the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) said.
The impact threw the victim to the ground. He was bleeding from the head and had suffered a skull fracture.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
The elderly victim was taken to UCSD Medical Center. His condition is unknown.
The crash is under investigation.
