Firefighters quickly surrounded a small brush fire that burned near San Diego’s Bonsall area Tuesday evening, keeping it from spreading very far.
The blaze sparked around 5:20 p.m. in the 30000 block of Old Highway 395.
Cal Fire officials rushed to the scene and said crews initially had a tough time gaining access to the fire.
By 5:45 p.m. officials said the brush fire was fully surrounded and would be contained shortly. The blaze burned one-quarter acre at a slow rate of spread.
Officials said they would do a few air drops to knock down the fire. Crews will remain on scene mopping up hot spots.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
