Evacuation warning lifted after brush fire in Poway

Crews responded to a brush fire that burned at least four acres Saturday evening around 6 p.m., south of Poway Road and Lola Way.

Evacuations were in place along Cobblestone Creek Road until about 7:45 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire Department. The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation.

The fire threatened homes, with a chopper and other aircraft working to dropped retardant, stopping the forward rate of spread.
