Booze Banned at Kate Sessions Park

A 24-hour alcohol ban is now in place at Kate Sessions Park.

The San Diego City Council voted unanimously to pass the ban on Tuesday.

Residents who live near the park say they have noticed more parties and binge drinking since a total alcohol ban kicked in at city beaches two years ago.

Before the council's vote, people couldn't drink at Kate Sessions Park between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Neighbors complained about the noise and trash, saying it would be safer if people couldn't drink at the park at all.
