Woman's Body Found Inside City Heights Home

Police are investigating a suspicious death after a woman's body was found Saturday evening inside her City Heights home.

The 21-year-old woman's body was found around 5:15 p.m. by a family member inside the apartment on the 3600 block of 45th Street, about a block from Rosa Parks Elementary School, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD).

The woman was found in her bedroom with apparent traumatic injuries, police said.

The woman had gone out with friends Friday night and returned home around 5:45 a.m. Saturday morning, Lt. Matt Dobbs said.

No suspects have been identified at this time, he said.

According to the woman's uncle, she lived with her mother and father.

Homicide detectives were asking neighbors if they heard or saw something and were combing the neighborhood to see if there are any security cameras that may help them piece together what happened.

Anyone with information about this incident was urged to call the Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
