Authorities Saturday identified the man whose body was found wrapped in a tarp in the trunk of an abandoned Lexus in Anaheim.
The man was Adrian Darren Bonar, 34, of Escondido, said Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Daron Wyatt, who added that Bonar was "known to frequent motels in North San Diego County and Los Angeles County."
California Highway Patrol officers were about to tow the car, which was left on Santa Ana Canyon Road west of Gypsum Canyon Road underneath the connector road of the Riverside (91) Freeway to Foothill (241) Toll Road Thursday. That's when they found "suspicious" objects, prompting them to notify Anaheim police at 10:45 a.m., Wyatt said.
Detectives are asking anyone who has had contact with, or has seen Bonar over the past few weeks, to call 714-321-3669, or 855-TIP-OCCS.
