Body Found in San Luis Rey River: Oceanside

Man's fully-clothed body had no signs of trauma, according to authorities

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's office released additional information Sunday about a body that was found in the San Luis Rey River in Oceanside Saturday afternoon.

Oceanside police responded to a call of a fully-clothed body floating face down in a secluded area of the river near the 700 block of Capistrano Dr. at about 1:30 p.m., according to Lt. Valencia Saadat.

The ME's office said Sunday that the body was of a 40 to 50-year-old Caucasian man. The man's identity has yet to be determined.

There were no signs of trauma on the man's body and police said it appeared that his body had been in the water for less than 72 hours.

The body was reportedly found in a well-known transient area.

Authorities said an investigation into the discovery would be ongoing
